Major Sports Events Of the Year [2025]

Introduction

The main athletic events for 2025 are listed below. Although we have attempted to include all of the major sporting events that are currently known, primarily the international competitions, not all sporting events can be included here. The World Games, the Invictus Games, the Summer and Winter World University Games, the Rugby League World Cup, the African Cup of Nations, and the customary yearly events are the main events on the 2025 calendar.

With women’s sports at the forefront, 2025 is sure to be a fantastic year for sports. In May, the Women’s Cricket World Cup will take place in cricket-mad India; in June and July, the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 will take place; and in September, the Women’s Rugby World Cup will be held in England, its spiritual home. The 2020 Olympic Games host, Tokyo’s National Stadium (pictured), will host the World Athletics Championships once again, with the hope that crowds will return following the Covid-19 pandemic.

In football, the anticipated expanded FIFA Club World Cup is finally set to come to fruition, and in golf, the Bethpage Black Course in New York will host the 2025 Ryder Cup.
