How to enable music display mode for Glyph lights Nothing phone (1)

The Glyph lights on the Nothing phone (1) are excellent and offer a number of features like Flip to Glyph and the charge meter. However, there is a secret feature that is hidden in the Glyph interface settings that is not that easy to reach. This is the music display feature, and thanks to a report from xda developers, we now know how to enable this hidden setting.

Step 1: Create a contact named ‘Abra’

Go to the contacts app on your phone, press the ‘+’ sign at the bottom left to create a new contact and name it ‘Open’. Probably a nod to the magic words. Open Kadabra, this trick apparently won’t work with other contact names. Once the name is entered, save the contact without entering any email ID number.

Step 2: Give ‘Open’ a ringtone

Users can go to the Glyph Interface settings now and head over to the ringtones section. Click ‘Add a contact’ and choose ‘Open’ the contact you just created in Step 1. On the next page, you will be asked to choose a ringtone for the selected contact and you can choose any of the ringtones call of Nothing (tennis , scrambled, scribble, etc.).

Step 3: Find the secret option

Once you assign a ringtone to Abra, you can return to the main settings of the Glyph interface and you will see a new music display option unlocked in the section. Head over to him and turn on the lever.

Nothing OS will now use the glyph lights as a music visualizer when playing audio on the phone’s speakers now. The feature works with streaming apps like YouTube Music, as well as offline music played through apps like VLC Media Player.

You can also disable the feature by turning off the switch in the Interface Glyph section, but if you want to get rid of the Music Display option entirely, just delete the ‘Open’ contact you created and it will be gone.
